    String length

I am building a 7-8 foot mega tree that will be 16 strings (led) My question is what length string and size bulb would y'all recommend?
I forgot to add that this is a spiral tree

I have 3 10' mega trees. Two of Multicolored LED Strings, one is M6 and the other is C9. My bases are about 6' in diameter. Each of those trees use just a bit less than the standard big box store string length for 50 M6 or 25 C9 going up and over to the back.
    2012 - 1st year 64 Channels - 7500 LED lights - 5 sequences
    2013 - 128 Channels - 10,000 LED lights - 7 sequences (2 New)
    2014 - 201 Channels - upgrading 8 Arches to dumb RGB - 8+ sequences (1+ New)
    2015 - 240 Channels + 8 Universes - sequences TBD
    2016 - No Display
    2017 - Back in the Game - 240 Renard Channels + 12 Universes
    2018 - 256 Renard and 9 Falcon Outputs of Pixels - 16 sequences shown over 2 nights

The normal convention (but you can make yours however you want) is for the diameter of the base to be about 1/2 the height or 4 ft, so using A2 + B2 = C2 the length of the lights would be about 8.25 ft or you can use this tool to help determine your lengths

Mine were just the standard minilights

I used 12mm 50 count pixel strings from DIYLedExpress.com. The strings are about 17 feet long. I configure the strings so that about 8 feet of lights go up and about 8 feet of lights go down. So 8 strings of 50 leds will give me 16 strings on the tree.

Suggestion (no experience) use mini lights either m5 or wide angle. c6 would probably work too. I think the white ones look good in a spiral but I think there was one that was blue that was pretty cool.

I would watch videos on youtube and copy the tree you like.

I use 16 strings of 25 lights, since it is an 8 foot tree.
