    Vixen 2.1 and Launcher Anomaly

I'm using Launcher in Vixen 2.1 to trigger some external events. It seems to be working just fine when I tested it. But now that I have extended the use to more 3events, I'm seeing a strange behavior: some % values are ignored. For example, 90 80, 75, 65, 55, 45, 40, 35, 25, 20 work - but 70, 30, and I just noticed today 50 - won't trigger launcher to call the external file.

I understand all about fractional values not having precise digital counter parts from 0-255, but it that were the issue I would expect 50% to not have any issues.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there any other way to know what percentages will work reliably other than trial and error?

I've seen this on two systems: one Win7-64bit and the other WinXP-32bit.

Update: seems to be just very unreliable. Is there another way (in Vixen 2.1) to execute external applications???

    Thanks,

    Jimboha

Touch wood :-) I am using all those numbers to trigger batch files to send messages to my Ledtrix panel without an problem for about 4 yrs now. I send a "LTC clear" batch file first in a sequence, followed about 2 sec later by the customised batch file holding the set of pre-prepared messages for display during each particular sequence in my show.

I found out by trail and error that you must only colour one Vixen square, because the launcher is fast enough to attempt to run a second launch of the same batch file if there are two sguares filled in with the same numbers !!

Hopefully this is of some help.

Hmm, I was using two squares just to make sure, but maybe that is the issue. Let me change back to one and see what happens..

It is certainly worth trying. :-)

Yes, it does work better with jus a single 'square'. I have found a car radio (friend's car) that shows all the RDS data. It shows the text changing for each song as expected. But I have not yet verified that all of the songs do indeed change. I don't see why not, but I haven't seen it yet.
